Mapauriki Farm

As a couple, we have studied together, travelled together and now together we are pursuing our passion for good food, health, and a healthy planet. We believe there is an importance in re-connecting people with their food and with their farmers. We are proud to be a part of the movement towards more sustainable food systems, and we hope you are too!

In the Otapaurau valley situated between the popular Matarangi and Kuaotunu beaches on the beautiful Coromandel Peninsula runs Mapauriki Stream, our farms namesake.

Mapauriki Farm is a small family owned farm of around 35 acres, half an acre has been converted to a market garden and the rest is currently in pasture.

Our small-scale market garden was created in Spring 2017 with a goal to sustainably grow fresh, great tasting, nutrient-dense produce for our community. We combine organic, bio-intensive, and regenerative agriculture principles to grow in a way that maximises both soil health and crop production.

On the rest of the farm we are grazing beef cattle and continuing to work on projects to improve the land such as planting the stream banks, planting fruit trees, shade trees, and shelter belts. We are also always looking for new regenerative agricultural enterprises we could incorporate on the farm.

Meet Your Farmers

Tess is the farm organiser, she makes sure things are done on time. She is a animal lover and is passionate about looking after our health, and the environment. At the end of the day she enjoys a long walk with the dogs followed by a glass of wine or two.

Regan is passionate about farming, food, and soil. He is always interested to learn more and is passionate about protecting the environment. Outside of the farm, you'll find him with a rugby ball in hand or off exploring the outdoors.

WOOF!- These two (Niko and Indy) love food, pats and walks. You will hear them barking if you show up to the farm, don't be alarmed they are big softies when you get to know them. Their hobbies include lying in the sun (often on top of newly planted seedlings) and walks on the beach.
